Hey guys. I have a 2000 Journey 36G. Since I'm new to the diesel coach mechanics, I have a question about my converter in the lower basement rear compartment. It seems to have a plug with it located beside an outlet. Should I leave that plug plugged in all the time or should it remain unplugged?

I asked my local dealership and didn't really receive an appropriate answer. The tech said, "well, you can plug it in or leave it unplugged". No crap. I knew that. I need to know should I plug it in or leave it unplugged?
Can anyone help? Thank in advance.

Not 100% sure. It appears it's coming out of the converter from the side. Do you think it's the engine block heater cord?

I will take a picture tomorrow and post it on this link. See what you think.

If yours is set up like mine, the engine block heater plugs into a switched outlet that is mounted just behind (in my case) the 1500 watt inverter/charger in the bay with the shore power cord.

I'm pretty sure that is the receptacle and plug for your engine block heater. You'll be able to tell real easily by plugging a lamp (or electrical tester) into the plug, and switch on and off the engine block heater switch inside the coach. If the lamp/tester goes on and off, you got it figured out.

That was it. You guys sure are helpful. I tested it today. The light switch is located in my bathroom next to another switch that ciculated water through the engine for the hot water heater.

Thank you guys very much for your help.
