When I lock the door from the outside (not the deadbolt) I always check to see if it is locked. Sometimes it will not be. I have learned that when this happens I can pull down on the lock assembly and it will move down slightly then when I lock it from the outside it will be locked. I will try to remove and inspect to repair soon. Has anyone had a similar problem?

Thanks,

I had a similar problem on my '01 Journey. There is an adjustment bolt on the door edge which you can access by removing the tape covering the entry hole. I did the adjustment and it worked for awhile but eventually the lock failed and we were locked outside.

Fortunately, we had a rear window opened a little and I climbed in to unlock the door from the inside. Because I didn't want to get locked inside, I finally ordered and replaced the lock which I would recommend you do.

Nick

I also have an 01 35U. Traveler is correct. Remove plastic cap on door edge near lock and adjust small lock nut - clockwise or counter clockwise as needed for proper operation. I've needed to do this a couple of times over the years.

Thanks all

Works well now.

While I had it apart I shimmed the top stop the assymbly so that it wouldnt slide up and down no matter how tight the screw were.
