Hello, I'm looking at purchasing a 2001 Winnebago Brave 30W on a Ford chassis. Anyone on this list have one or owned one who would care to share an opinion? The one I am looking at has 36k miles, new tires, new wood flooring, looks great from the online pictures.

Thanks for any input pro or con.

Tom

I have no experience with this model, but sounds like it has been used just enough to keep it going well, and has been treated to some nice upgrades. If the regular maintenance has been done as it should, it could be a nice one!

We recently traded our '02 32' Brave. Loved everything about it except the ride. Most people say theirs rides good, ours was terriable after new tires. More tires didn't help, nor did air bags and Koni shocks.

Otherwise it was a great unit. Sounds like a good deal if it is in good condition and you can get a good price.

Im not sure if i can help. I have a 1999 33b chieftain on the newer f53 that I think your might be looking to purchase. Af for the rideI put on the following
Konis: I loved the way the handled higher speeds then stock OEM.
TOyo Tires: ROUGH RIDE! still not sure if that was the better way to go, but heavy industrial casings.
Davis Truetrack: Made a huge difference in trucks sneaking past and handling for stability in the back end
Alignment: Best bang for the buck right there!
I am now looking for some front end performance to help with soft steering and ruts on the road.
Other besides that, I have had other folks (in laws, friends) comment on how surpassingly well this tracks with minimal efforts. Still though I do not like the front end sloppiness and I believe it could be a little bit tighter and not drift on downhill corners.
My gut feeling is that if your brave you are looking at is stock, you will probably end up feeling a little uncomfortable with the ride without some mods (more money). But you never know until you try.
