Hi Ed, We sold a 2002 36' Journey DL in March of this year. We owned it for 4 years and really enjoyed the coach. We changed out the tires and shocks and got it riding better that any coach we have owned. The coach your friend is looking at needs new tires if they have not been replaced. There was a recall on the hydraulic lines to the slides (HWH)--both of mine had to be replaced. There was a problem with the heater core under the front hood leaking antifreeze. It seemed to be very prevalent around those years. The front of the coach has to come off to make the repair. The upgraded 4 door refrigerator also had a recall---that was an easy fix. Some people had problems with the basement AC unit. We did not and it worked great. I did replace the thermostat due to a bad switch. We do like Winnebago and how their coaches are put together. Best of luck to your friends with whatever they decide. John
