2003 Winnebago Sightseer Battery type ??

Can anyone tell me what size (chassis)battery should be in my 2003 Sightseer, 27c model ?? It is in another state in storage and I know it needs a battery , it did when I stored it. I want to bring one with me. Just wondering the best size ???

Mike,

You don't say if your chassis is a Ford or Workhorse but probably doesn't matter if your batteries are mounted under the entry stair as in many Winnebago Class A gas chassis. There is a lot of wiggle room so I would get the largest battery with the most CCA you can get within reason.

Anything the same size or smaller than a group 27 battery should fit without any problems since that is what I was able to get into the tray for the house batteries. As you can see the Group 27's dwarf the Chassis battery which is rated at 795 CCA. I don't know the group size of the chassis battery I purchased. The original chassis battery was rated around 690 CCA so I thought that was a reasonable upgrade. I should have gone bigger!

My chassis battery is a autozone duralast gold (johnson controls) which is under the hood and rated at 800 cca and 1000 cca at 32 degrees group 34.My coach batterys are 6 volts and under the steps.
