2004 vectors roof issue

Hi,

I've seen several threads regarding the lifting roof issue. Well, why track by through Wyoming yesterday in 50 mph winds, we had our roof lift out of the j Chanel despite being caulked and having etherbond tape.

I'm curious, anyone that has taped the seam, are you willing to share pictures? Maybe it was taped wrong because it pulled the tape out of the gutter and the caulking was useless. I'd like to repair it right.

Thanks

Dave

Im curious also. today I added tape as others have said on my drivers side. About 20 minutes after getting done we got a thunderstorm. After it was over I climbed back up and it doesn't appear the tape sealed well against the gutter. Its on the fiberglass and I cant get it to pull off but the gutter doesnt' seem to stick. I'll get back up there later this week to check it but now Im worried that the tape will catch the wind and add a sail to pull the roof up.....

I may cut the tape at the seam if i can't get it stuck just cause i worry about that stuff. Both my seams are in need of sealer if i can find something that will stay.

Parda03,

Cleaning well with eternabond solvent is essential. Any silicone will present a problem for tape and the proper sealant.

Does anyone have any pictures so I can see how they taped the Winnebago j channel? I will work to get all of the existing tape off, re calk again and then try and tape again. I did use actitone to clean everything and it all se Ned fine for one trip but as I said earlier, went to Wyoming and had to stop and repair twice even with this tape.
