Had my 06 in at a local rv shop getting some work done. Shop owner told me the door wouldn't open in the morning after they had worked on something else in the MH the day prior. Luckily it was inside and the driver's window was open.
He removed the whole lock/handle assembly. They are notorious for wear on one little part of the latch which then won't engage. He was able to carefully bend tab and reinstall. It has been fine for the last six months.
There was a video I looked at that showed removing and reinstall, plus there is an adjustment that is a bit touchy but doable. Requires adjusting screw so that you get good engagement but also unlock. Looks totally doable, I am just in hold mode as long as it is still working. Be careful if you do attempt to bend as some parts are pot metal. All new assemblies were available online this spring but they were around $100 plus if I remember correctly.
Good luck

Thanks

Found replacement latch assembly at local rv store after calling Winnebago, who told me assembly had been updated. New assembly was a bit different, but figured it was due to the updating. Didn’t work, as the re-design deleted the rod which connected handle with latch mechanism. No way for the inside panel to match up with outside panel screw holes and still connect with latch??!!
So I bent the tab you mentioned back up a little and the old assembly works fine again. For now. Still going to do some research on new assembly. Thanks for your reply.
