Gents..

Am attempting to adjust headlights on 05 journey. I found the cables that go to an adjustment screw on the top of the light fixture, but am not sure if this point adjusts the vertical or horizontal. Turned this scew a gazillion times with the lights shinning on a wall and could not really see them move.

I think it is the horizontal adjustment but not sure.... but then where is the vertical adjustment point?

Any help would be appreciated. Pics would be fantastic.

Mark

Cannot fnd any info on your model/headlights. No first hand kowledge.

Most adjusters on top of the headlights are for up and down, the most common adjustment needed. Side to side usually involves trim removal for access.

How close were you to the wall? Hard to see it move if you are parked close. Most home adjustments require 25' between the rv and the wall.

My 98 Overland has "Ford Explorer Headlights" in it from the factory. They were screwed up when I bought it, used, and needed adjustment.

The drivers side took a LOT of turning to get it adjusted up, but it did come up. The passenger side had a broken adjuster rod, which clipped into the housing. It was just pushing into the space making no adjusment. Made a fix and got it adjusted, too.

Try to find a place local that you can buy one. Go take a look at it.

Good Luck!

Discovered my headlights have two cables running down to the adjusters...in the pic the hex head (1/4) on the left adjusts the vertical and the other adjusts the horizontal.

Problem is that on the passengers side only the vertical adjustment works and on the drivers side neither one works. Adjusters are stripped or something. So had to remove some mouthing brackets on the drivers side and slot some holes which I hope will allow me to make manual adjustments in the mounting, if it will stay in place while I tighten the bolts.
