The wife and I are picking up our new-to-us Sightseer tomorrow and we are chomping at the bit. This will be our first Class A. We traded in our 2000 Jayco Eagle Class C on it.
I have been brainstorming what I want to do as far as changes. These include changing to a modern TV, adding a Ham Radio or two, and some other things.
Has anyone put an on the glass Ham antenna on the narrow window above the drivers side window? I'm worried that the tinting in this glass may affect the ability of the signal to pass through.
I also was wondering what was the correct caulk to use around the edges of the roof cap. Thank God - no more rubber roof!

I can totally relate to your comment about no more rubber roof! We recently sold a 1999 National Class A and the one reoccuring issue was....yep, small leak in roof. Nothing huge mind you but I know that a drip over time is enough to destroy an RV. So, it's Winnebago for us next time. My issue now is whether it's a Class A or C. Any thoughts?

Drive a class C and see if you can live with the turning ratio. We downsized a year ago and almost went to a class C and are sure glad we didn't. We love sitting up high, the big windshield and the tighter turning ratio.

I would have never guessed that the Class C had a bigger turning radius than the Class A. Just doesn't seem 'right'. But if you've experienced it then I'll take your word on it. Just gives me another reason to go with the Class A. .....besides loving that view our the front windows.
