I have a 2006 Itasca Suncruiser, Workhorse 24 chassis, which continually blows a fuse (#9 inside vehicle fuse panel under driver’s side of dash) when the headlights are on, which causes the loss of running lights, dash lights and clearance lights. This seems to happen on rough/bumpy roads and does not happen 100% of the time which makes it tough to diagnose. The front and rear lighting wire harnesses have been eliminated as the cause by the most recent service tech. Thus, I removed the dash cover and “tapped” on the headlight dimmer switch, which also blew the fuse. Thus, I changed the dimmer switch and this corrected the problem for a short time. Most recently the fuse blew once again and I disconnected the wire harness (4 wire) that connects to the dimmer switch. I have driven the vehicle 500 miles and have not had a fuse blow yet (knock on wood), of course with this disconnected I have no dash lights. Additionally, the driver’s map light is continually energized. I installed a 12v switch to isolate this map light issue which I thought was related to the fuse blowing. However, the map light is “hot” even with #9 fuse blown? Questions: a. any suggestions on a solution? b. what are the 4 wire leads into the dimmer wire harness? c. suggestions of a well-qualified master electrical tech for WH/Winnebago close to northwest Indiana? d. Is this a WH or Winnebago wire harness? Thanks and sorry this is so long, but my first post and is very frustrating since I cannot drive the RV in bad weather or at night!!

I had an issue with my 03 WH Suncruiser that I would lose all parking/marker/dash lights... Knew I had a short somewhere... spent lots of time and money looking for the elusive short since it was a safety issue... FINALLY found the short... it was near/right at the end of the wire at the cluster of switches on the dash for the fans, genstart etc... wire was chafing on the METAL instrument panel supports... I taped everything and wrapped ALL wiring there with plastic looms... Those dash wire supports are grounded to the chassis... so shorts there are easy... It would only short while I was on the road...
