2006 Vectra, 3500 miles, $165,000 ,COMMENTS Pls

Looking at trading 2008 Ford F350 4X4 Lariat and 2007 Mobile Scout 37 foot 3 slides for winnibago, Vectra. Any comments appreciated. Price Difference etc.

Need more information but the price is too high. I would say the value of that rig is $105 - $120 depending on floor plan and options.

Price aside, the 2006 Vectra is a good unit. The Evolution chassis rides and drives well. If it is the 400 HP Cummins you will have plenty of power.

I agree the Vectra is a good unit but that price is way out of line. I don't care what kind of shape or extras added. I wouldn't even begin to negotiate unless it is 20 to 30 thousand less. You don't mention mileage, whether it was stored outside, ect. Remember right off the bat you are probably going to have to put 3 grand worth of tires on it. Good luck. Keep looking. It is a buyer's market, so you rig is out there.

As stated above, price way to high. That price would be on the high end even for a clean 2007.

Check NADAguides.com. The Vectra is a higher end model, so even the 2006 is valued at more than a 2008 Latitude. Low retail according to NADA is $146,000.

Just for grins, I did a search and found this one. It's the only 2006 Vectra I found that was under $150k.

Remember if using NADA extras don't count. Call a lending company and ask how much they will lend on the unit for a true "value". We pay a bundle for the extras when we buy but when we sell they really don't matter. Just a plus when they are on the coach. Good Luck

That may be, but we paid $105,000 for ours with 7,000 miles. It is a buyer's market. Note that one of the ads posted, by someone else, for the Vectra is $120,000 asking price. Joe

$165,000 is way too high and may be what they owe on the unit. Unfortunately, the unit simply isn't worth that kind of money in today's market. In addition to the price I would be concerned about the age of the tires and the extremely low mileage. The low mileage is a concern because they may not have done proper maintenance. I would want to see all the maintenance records including those for the generator. Diesel engines sitting idle for long periods of time is not good. Also all the TVs will have to be updated which you should not have to mess with for that kind of money. Too many issues for too much money, I would keep looking.

I agree that the price might be a little high, but the Vectra is the Top of the line Winnebago and depending on what Model it is the NADA prices range from $143,000 to $183,000. Yes the mileage is low, Good or Bad?? but if it's been maintained and kept well perhaps a good deal could be negotiated. We love our 2005!!!

Asking is not getting. If I paid asking price then I would have paid 20% to 30% too much for every vehicle I have ever purchased.

The best example was in 2000 I went to purchase a minivan for $22,000 to get the one I wanted. It started at $36,000 at one dealer and after going through several dealers I got one that was identical for my $22,000 price as a matter of fact it was identical even down to the VIN. They were all trying to sell me the same minivan only one dealer was not as greedy as the rest.

Just because they are asking towards the high end of the range does not mean that is what they will accept if made a counter offer.

Now on a private sale where the owner is upside down on his financing that is another matter however that rig may end up selling for its actual value later on if the bank forcloses and puts it up for liquidation.
