In my unit, the SONY Vega TV is installed inside of a cabinet and secured with brackets inside of the cabinet. That cabinet looks like a pre-fab cabinet that comes apart. Does anyone klnow how to take it apart so that I can install a TV inside of it. I want to replace my existing analog SONY with a digital version and all 32 inch screens are 1 inch wider than I can presently accomodate. If I find out how to take it apart, I can remove the piece with the opening and cut it an inch wider on each side. It has to come apart somehow...Helppp

Are you talking about the front or rear TV?

There is a narrow board across the top of the TV opening that needs to come off. There are also some bolts in the floor of the TV opening that you can reach from the storage area below the TV. Loosen these bolts and the TV will slide out. Be careful because it is heavy.

Doug, Thanks for your information. My goal is to remove the front piece that has the square hole in it allowing the TV through it. I want to cut the opening on each side about an inch so I can get a 32 inch tv in it. Presently, the opening width is about 301/4 howver once you are past that opening and get into the cabinet, there is about 2 more inches on both sides.

I mounted a 37" LED using a multi position universal mount so that the TV is in front of the opening, ie outside the entertainment center. The huge area behind where the old Sony was makes great DVD storage. I built DVD shelves in the very back and a hinged DVD shelf in front of that for all our DVD's so I no longer needed the odd shaped storage below. I mounted a small electric fireplace in that space.
