I was looking at the placard on the driver's side, lower panel and noticed that the chassis was produced by Workhorse April 2005 and the motorhome was manufactured by Winnebago May of 05. At the bottom of the placard it stated; "Model 2006 Adventurer". I don't understand how a coach manufactured in early 2005 can be designated a 2006? I am sure that somehow I have missed the big picture here; can someone please enlighten me?

Rich,

It is the difference between year of manufacture and the vaporus designation of model year. Next years vehicles are previewed in the spring of the previous year and then production is ramped up for a release that used to be in the fall. Every year however they seem to bump up the release of next years models with some even showing up in early summer. You could have an early production unit or one of the show models.

Anyhow it is the model year it was designed for not the year it was built.

Regards,

Neil

Model years can only "cross" one January first. So, on January 2nd 2005 someone could start building 2006 model year vehicles, and contnue to build it until December 31st 2006.

Just a little FYI.
