Welcome to IRV2 and the Winnebago Owners area. You just will not find a more helpful or comprehensive RV-related website.
I've only seen photos and the limited info Winnebago has on their website related to the new tag axle Tour. I can only offer my opinion based on owning two Winnebago coaches, one being a nearly 8 year old DP.
The Freightliner chassis is widely used under a lot of motorhomes. It is certainly a good chassis with lot's of locations for service around the U.S., most notably their own motorhome-specific chassis service center in Gaffney, SC, which is near the Freightliner custom chassis factory. They are top notch there.
The Cummins diesel and Allison tranny combination will surely last many more years than 10 with proper maintenance. Some say most of these DP's will outlast the owners. While mine has the CAT engine with the Allison, it has 65K miles and does not miss a beat.
There are many folks on here using their Winnebago's full time and there is no reason to suspect you could not enjoy the rig for many years, again with proper maintenance. Most new rigs have their bugs and some folks say it generally takes the first year to get them all worked out. Winnebago offers excellent service at their factory in Forest City and many folks go there for service.
Good luck shopping and, if you get that new 42AD, be sure and come back to tell us the good news and to share your RV experiences.
