I have a new 2011 Winnabago View. When I start the engine, all the outside lights come on. No matter what position I put the headlight switch, the running lights stay on day or night. I have never seen this with any other RV. Anybody have this same problem, and any help on how to fix it would be helpful. I spoke to Winnabago, they said it was a Mercedes problem. I spoke to Mercedes, and they say that is a Winnago issue. HELP HELP PLEASE.

we also have a 2011 view. they are daytime running lights. I was told it is a safety issue. Not a problem for us. Check your rear lense caps, make sure they are tight and "snapped on". we lost two of them on the road and had to replace them from the dealer. I never found them in local stores. safe travels and welcome.

You can have the daytime running lights turned off at your Mercedes dealer. It is an option that they can turn on/off through the OBD interface. May cost you .5 hr of labor depends on the dealership. Had mine tuned off at the local Dodge dealer since my View Sprinter is on a 2008 chassis and badged a Dodge.

Here are a few pictures of what the Scan program may give the Sprinter Tech. Print them out and show the service writer. This was for a Dodge Sprinter but it should be similar if not the same.

I rather like the idea of Lights on for Safety.. Wonder why you want them off?

That said, like the man said, see your chassis maker, Simple software update and even that may not be needed.

But unlike you, the last car I owned, I added DRL's to it.

Though this is the first time I've heard of them including the MARKER lights

On my Workhorse powered motorhome it's only the headlights, both high and low beams, half power.

I like them for safety as well but...I would rather decide if I want them on or not....my $.02

When car manufacturers started using the headlights at half power for DRLs, they quickly found out that some people weren't turning the lights on at night, since they could see their headlights were on. That meant that they were running around with no tail lights. That may be why all the exterior lights come on.

I turn on the headlights every time I take a vehicle out of the yard.
