I'm glad my Vista is a 2011. It looks like nearly everything is the same but the chassis. I have the 32K which has a 22,000 lb GVWR whereas the 2012 32K has a 20,500 lb GVWR. Granted we run fully loaded under 19,000 lbs but it is comforting to know the chassis can handle the higher weight load.

I'm thinking the same thing with our Tour. If the specs are right, the gray tank on the 2012 is roughly half of the 2011 (58 vs 105). Browsing through the rest of the specs, I don't see anything that makes me wish I'd waited for the 2012.

I don't think the engineer that designs winnebago or most any brand has never actually lived in a motorhome. they ought to be forced to live in what they design for at least a year, before it goes to market

I hope that's a misprint on the grey tank capacity. Black tank I could see but not grey. Winnebago knows better than that.

I do believe it is a split tank, not just 58 gallons. I think it shows 58/100. But if you look at the Itasca 2012 Ellipse there is NO 40 footers anymore Just 42 foot tag axels
The only 40 footers are in the Meridan Class.
Will have to check them out at the Harrisburg show real close. That 2011 Ellipse 40 ft. CD looks better and better.
Regards Jim P.

They are split tanks, and have been. Our '08 Tour 40TD had two tanks with the total of 100 plus gallons. They've always listed the total of the two. If this isn't a misprint, then they've probably removed one of the tanks on the '12 model.

Reducing the size of the gray tank in the QD would be a bad thing, for sure. It is not critical, but if anything, they should increase the size of the black tank. Regarding the new floorplan, the JD (did I get that right?), the only TV I see is over the front dash. The one major reason we stayed with the W is the heads on viewing. I, for one, do not like the neck craning needed to watch TV in this floorplan. But, others may differ. The one thing I do like about the 12's is the ZF Independent Front Suspension. Had that on my last Vectra. The solid axel on my 11 is acceptable, but the IFS would be fantastic. Also, on the QD (and now the JD), I wish Winnebago would have revised the entry into the front powder room to make it easier for future owners to enter it while the slides are closed. Perhaps a pocket door??

dengraham: Just go to Winnie regular web site Winnebago Industries and click on 2012 sneak preview.
On the tanks... Black 53 Gallons / Gray 105 Gallons. Yepper the JD has the opposing couches, thus the TV is up front over the drivers head. That is why I am a fan of the QD also.
I still like sorta the 2011 CD, but again the TV is overhead.
42 FT. Tags worry me. Extra lenght, extra tires, probably more turnpike expense with more axels. I still have to drive one and experience the feel..
Regards Jim P.

^ Interesting, I didn't know they were delivering 2012s already. It's still June!
Congrats on the new motorhome.

model year does not seem to mean much anymore. Newmar was selling 2012 coaches at the Tampa Supershow in January 2011.
