JESSE could you describe the process of installing this new handle. Where is the controller located in the coach?

Where did you order the handle from? How much? Easy to program? DW wants one NOW!

Ron

Remove the old handle

Remove the magazine holder for access (2 screws)

Remove controller access panel
At drivers left foot rest (Philip screws)

Run and zip tie harness under the coach and into the firewall at the controller and through the floor at bottom of magazine holder/compartment.

Plug harness into controller and reinstall cover.

Drill 7/8 hole at bottom of handle placement for the harness.

Install new handle
It will cover all original holes
If you mount exact.

The invoice below is also for two Winnebago key fobs at $20.89 each that you won't need.

Replace magazine holder.

Easy to program

choose 5 numbers
for up to 5 different people

Then

1 Unlocks and locks the entry door
2 Unlocks the locks the cargo doors
7 Unlocks and locks all doors

She will love it

Just say "yes dear"

Jesse

Air Suspension Not Airing Up

Has anybody had an issue with the air suspension not airing up after the jack have retracted? I have tried numerous resets and such, but it still only works intermittently. The manual override under the bus works, but what a pain.

Any input is appreciated.

I had that happen once.
Since then I put it in drive and take the parking brake off with my foot on the service brake to be sure it inflates. Freightliner built an override into its system to inflate the bags if you try to drive off. At times I can watch the top of my mirror and see it raising.

Had that happen once as well. Unlike Jesse, mine did not air up after driving out of the campground and to the freeway onramp about 1/4 mile away. My "fix" was stop, hit autolevel to deploy jacks then hit retract and wait a good 30 sec or so after it quit flashing (blue?) at me and flipped to green travel mode. Restarting engine then the coach aired up. Now I always wait to visually check the clearance between front tires and fenders to make sure it has aired up before driving off.

Just got my 2012 Tour coach back from service. The GPS unit stopped working properly and was replaced under my extended warranty. Since the original unit was no longer available it was a plug and play replacement with a Rand McNally unit.

It appears to be a big improvement over the original but have not had a chance to fully exercise it.

Does anyone have any experience with this type of unit? Pros and Cons?

On my way home from the dealer I did notice it gave me a verbal weight limit warning when I crossed a large bridge at Brunswick, MD. There was no posted weight limit on the bridge and I was surprised to hear it as I was crossing the Potomac River from Maryland into Virginia. Its a substantial bridge that was recently reduced and painted. I looked on the web and could not find any weight limit listing for the bridge.

The Extended Warranty company was none too happy about replacing the unit and the dealer had to fight with them over it. It was about $2K for the replacement including labor.

Almost don't blame them. Almost I looked into upgrading my 2011 Xite unit with it's measly 1GBy SD card. Can't just upgrade the card. Per Riverpark, the cost to replace the unit and upgrade to Rand McNally would have been about $1200 in parts alone. New radio/nav unit $850, new maps $225, new GPS antenna $79 and new Sat radio connection $69. I guess for that price I live with old maps on the built in GPS and double check with various other up-to-date GPS units in our phones or laptops!

on some of the models you can just switch out the SD card to upgrade to Rand McNally I confirmed with RiverPark which dash units were and mine worked. so I purchase the SD card. a lot better mapping software then what was stock, plus lifetime updates. it was about the cost of a portable GPS, $200.

Decided to save $80 and ordered keypad only. Confirmed with engineering that it functions the same as the replacement handle with keypad. I will post pics next week when it arrives and is installed. Click image for larger version

Slides and Rollers

Has anybody tried to replace the slide rollers, or is that a service center thing. Mine are squealing really bad and I am afraid they will break sooner or later. Is there a way to service them?
