2015 and up Winnebago/Itasca Tour/Ellipse Improvements, questions, and Issues

Now that Winnebago seems to have worked through most of the issues with the 2014 and older Ellipses and Tours, I figured I would start a thread dedicated to the newer models and all info related to them. Also, after reading through several hundred pages of threads I realized most of the info I was reading no longer applied to my year. What improvements, issues, or questions do you have in regards to the 2015 and up 2015 and up Winnebago/Itasca Tour/Ellipse.

Nice RV. I have the 2015 Tour with the same Floorplan and colors.

No real modifications yet. Love the whole setup.

Had some burner problems with my aqua Hot burners but dealer fixed. My taillights kept fogging up with moisture. Found out they did not install the drain tubes in them when built. Dealership replaced all 4.

Wire shorted out and burned out my big window slide control switch. Had to completely rewire slide. Works great now.

Been through 4 water pumps. And getting it fixed again tomorrow. Won't shutoff. Runs constantly when you turn it on.

Coming up on my first year full timing in it. Going into the dealership tomorrow to fix the last of the bugs.

First few trips seemed like something always went wrong. But last few have been a dream.

Hope you have Safe and fun adventures.

Thanks akcretired, great info. I just noticed a little bit of fogging in my taillights as well. Now I know what to look for.

Also 2 of the 3 Colman air-conditioning units had bad motor mounts and broke during operation. Broke the blades. New mounts and fan blades and all is well with no further problems since.

Do you recall the model number of the broken ones by chance?

2015 and up Winnebago/Itasca Tour/Ellipse Improvements, questions, and Issues

I have the 2015 42qd born in December, so I do have 15-16 items in mine. Problems I have fixed are as follows
-replace all aqua hot motors (4) (by aqua hot)
-replace 2 of the balun in the matrix system due to not working with Dish Network.
-replace 3 of the 4 tail lights assembly's water
-Have one of the AC fixed
Numerous small items
All done under warranty be Winnebago

All done during the first year
Now the coach is working great and really enjoying the RV

Some of the improvements
Added motion lights in the overhead cabinet's (tv, couch)
Added additional fire fly switch in front right bay ( same as water bay)
Took ladder Ext out of back box and put in peg board
Under coach LED lights
Added full time water line with sprayer into outdoor kitchen

We've worked through quite a list of fixes - major stuff follows:
- Replaced A/C roof top fans with 'D' models (thicker than B and C models)
- Replaced all 4 AH pumps
- Replaced one A/C
- Replaced one rear leveling jack
- Replaced both generator shroud 'stops' (the adhesive dries out and they fall off)

And improvements:
- Slide out drawers above kitchen sink and below master bath sink
- Window awning over passenger side living room window (older style window)
- Slide out garbage can below sink
- 7" straight valve stem extensions on inside duals with stabilizers to mount TPMS
- 1280 W of solar
- Wire tie between main storage compartment door releases to ease opening with one hand
- Trimmed storage compartment panel at side of water tank so water level visible
- Replaced overbed puck lights with individually controlled flexible stalk lights
- Purchased portable water softener system (DW loves what it does in the shower)

Suspect there's some other stuff I just can't remember (which could be temporary or permanent) ...

Okay, I have a job for everyone today. The wind noise on the drivers side is driving me crazy. I have read a few posts that talks about adjusting the distance between the mirror and the coach to minimize it. I have tried that about 16 times so far. For those of you that think your wind noise is low, can you do the rest of us a favor and measure the distance between the coach and the edge of the mirror?

Another help item is to put a piece of weatherstripping at the base of the mirror. At the mounting base you can see a small gap. At 60 + mph that acts like a whistle. I put a piece of weatherstripping in mine and killed that whistle.

I also pushed my mirror out about 2 inches to give more room for airflow.

Good luck..

4" from window to closest edge of mirror body. Mirror perfectly vertical. Weep holes covered with elec tape. Mirror only turned slightly toward driver. I thought when it was at a 45 from the body that the noise was much worse. Click image for larger version

My mirror is 6" from the window. Note also whether you have a 'wind diffuser' attached to the lower left corner of the window (looking at it from the outside).

Another item to follow:
- Have experienced poor dash air cooling since purchase on a rarely used unit
- Unit is labeled to have 2 lbs of freon
- Schrader valves are reported as tight and no obvious leaks elsewhere
- Charged the unit to 4 lbs with some improvement
- Have talked with 3 owners now who are up to 6 - 7 lbs; 2 have had the dryer replaced to get unit to function properly
