2016 RV with roof issues

When we picked up our used 2016 Adventurer in Phoenix, I climbed up on the roof for an inspection. Besides discovering that the advertised satellite dish was missing, I found some delaminating fiberglass on the curved edge above the driver. About 20 inches worth. I let the dealer know and he said it was "normal" for a hot climate was going to cover it with silicon. I told him I would deal with it.

We got home to Sacramento and had the local dealer look at it. I was looking for advise on the best way to go to fix right. He took some pics and asked Winne what they recommend. Well, the recommendation was not to cover it, but to repair with fiberglass. Winne is covering the repair. Glad I decided to wait. The PHX dealer was in the business of getting me out of there.

BTW, got a new dish installed before we left PHX.

This RV is just beyond warranty and Winne is covering all the issues I have found, no argument or hassle.

I would not let anyone smear silicon over the distressed area. IMO the best fix is EternaBond RSW-6-50 RoofSeal Sealant Tape, White - 6" Sold in 50' rolls, a one and done fix. Available on Amazon.com for $ 84

If you DIY it, the remaining tape will useful for many other future repairs.

FWIW, your 2016 Adventurer has a 10-year limited parts and labor warranty on the fiberglass roof.

Below is a link to the sealants Winnebago uses and recommends. Also some dealers will deduct value, when you sell or trade in your Adventurer, if EternalBond is found on the coach.

And some tips on roof to sidewall maintenance.

Lots of excellent Winnebago TIP sheets are located on the following website.

Thx, I'm a previous Adventurer owner and just did the roof on the 2003 with Winne recommended Urethane sealant. I am amazed at the number of Winne owners that know nothing about the roof inspections and issues.

Got the RV back from La Mesa. Very nice repair of the roof. Never know it ever had an issue. They ground it down, filled it with fiberglass, sanded and finished. All covered by Winne 10 year warranty.
