Camping World sells a 25 foot 30 Amp extension cord.
Will the longer cord attached to the existing 25 foot cord have any negative impact on power needs for the heatpump, etc?

A 30 amp extension cord will work fine on a 30 amp coach.

Not only will you be fine, but it is advisable to have one. Nobody likes to be without a heatpump because your rv was to long to hook up to shore power or it was located on the wrong side like we've run into. You won't loose any line voltage with that length. They are a little pricey, but once you have it, you have it.

Q. Can the hardwire units be mounted horizontally?
A. The manufacturer recommends mounting the unit vertically (with the line side up) or horizontally (on its side), do not mount unit on its back or face down because unit will not operate properly

I wrote a customer review on that cord on the CW website. I'm surprised they posted it. I had the female end of the extension melt and fail. I replaced the end with a box and recepticle from Home Depot. The original recepticle was thin brass bent over in half. The one I replaced it with was a double brass contacts on each of the black and white connections. Your choice.

I and others have had problems with the molded connectors on these type cords.
IMHO, THIS CORD uses much better connectors.
