35j king bed replacement info

We were cheap and didn't originally upgrade our mattress... thinking was "how bad could it be?". Well, it was bad and we quickly put a nice memory foam topper on it, but started having back pains and not enjoying our sleep.

We delayed buying a replacement mattress because of the odd size of our "short" king. It seemed that a memory foam mattress was probably the only cost effective way to afford a replacement but delayed the purchase because we weren't looking forward to removing the cover, cutting it to fit our "short" king and re-sewing/fitting the cover over the shortened mattress. Finally bit the bullet to purchase a memory foam mattress and although the advertised size was for a regular king bed (76X80), it fit perfectly side-ways without any cutting or resizing efforts! The mattress does hang over the plywood a little, but not as much as the old mattress did.

Here's a link to what we bought at Overstock. It fit perfectly and looks great! Very comfy also.

I'm not affiliated with Overstock in any way and won't profit from anybody's purchase, just wanted to give out some information in case anybody else was on the bubble about how to fix a crappy sleeping experience in the 35Js or others with a 72X75" king bed.
