On my 37B Adventurer 2004 there is a vent plate covering the access hole to the P trap under the shower. With the living room extended, I can see daylight through that 8" x 8" approx hole where the P trap sits. Is there suppose to be a seal or plate or something that I'm missing. I looked in the Winnebago parts list but couldn't find anything.

Thanks. Don

I beleive the opening your talking about, is to let heated air to get into the compartment under the shower, might keep the pipes from freezing. I have the same opening in my 02 Horizon. While your mentioning the vent register under the shower, I had to change mine, due to the register starting to rust. I went to Home Depot, and got a vinyl louver ( used for soffit opening) and replaced the screws with stainless ones, and presto, rust problem is gone. I wonder why Winnebago didnt think of that. Hope I helped you out.

As RR said, it allows heat into the storage compartment where your holding tanks are so they will not freeze.
When I dewinterize mine I plan on putting a mosquito netting behind that grill. From the outside, with the holding tank compartment door open look up in that direction and you'll see it's easy access for bugs and other small critters to get into the living area.

OK - I see what you mean. Thanks for the enlightnment. I like the soffit idea and the bug screen on the back side of the vent.

Great source of information.

I hope Kiwi comes through with that biscuit formula - could be a long one.

The light you see can also be coming from the large translucent tub that comprises the walls and floor of the water closet compartment.
