I have an 5.9 ISB Cummins. Other than doing it yourself can I get some suggestions for good places to get this type RV service. Looks like a bit of lube service and several filter changes along with things like ride height checks etc.....I'm not near a Freightliner dealer and the local Rv service does not seem to have it together....

Have you thought of taking it to an on-highway truck service facility?

X,

Go to the FreightLiner web site and look up their dealer locator/network. There are hundreds of FreightLiner Dealers out there that can service your coach, just make sure they are also a Cummins authorized dealer if you have any major engine work to be done.

If you haven't already experienced the cost of servicing a diesel chassis, your in for a big surprise, it's expensive!!!

I would determin what work I needed before I went to any dealer and then get a written qoute for the work you want done. Then ask around at different dealers to see where you get the best deal. Sometimes the small independent dealers who service heavy vehicles, will service motor homes and do good job at a very reasonable rate.

If you only have 6000 miles on your coach, your in for a lot of service work according to the owners manual, related to scheduled maintenance. Cummins and FreightLiner both, post their maintenance schedules for their products at their web sites.

Canuck has a good suggestion. There is a truck stop near me that has a truck lube center in the back. That's what I use. They do a great job.

We took our 2004 Meridian into Ok Cy Freightliner, $785 later. The next trip we took had oil all over the toad, called Freighliner regarding how much oil they put in, said 26 quarts. They don't know how much to put in unless they check the factory via the VIN number and only do that if customer insists. We will go to a local shop after that experience.
