Hello! I am new to this site and to being an RV owner. My husband & I just bought a 87 chieftain for $1500. Only 43000mi and new trans. Yay! We are so excited to fix it up. Only major bummer... the flooring. The carpet was removed and those cheapy vinyl tile stickers were used on top of the particle board subfloor. Unfortunately some of the subfloor has pretty extensive water damage in the area by the sink and in the bathroom. I am positive that when I take up the tile stickers most of the subflooring in the water damaged areas is going to come up with it. Do any of you know how I can "patch" the damaged subfloor without having to replace the whole thing? Any ideas would be helpful as I am super clueless. Thanks!!

If it's not super-rotted (and the damaging water has stopped) you might get away with just laying pressure treated 1/2" plywood right on top of it and then putting your new finish on top of that. The 1/2" will distribute the load across the weaker wood beneath.

I'll admit it's a touch hokey, but we did it in my aunt's vacation cabin back in 1986 (in her bathroom) and you know what? It's still working with no issues today!
