A&E 2 Step Awning

Has anyone had the screws come loose in the lower end of the mount?
Bottom screw on mt Aspect has worked loose. Best part is we never use the stupid thing.

To fix I will have to open it. Either put in a larger diameter screw or plug the hole to make the screw a tight fit.

If the screw is at the floor leve land screws into the flooring plywood, just use a larger screw. Stick a pick or large nail in the screw hole to check for solid wood. Use sealant in the hole to make sure there is no water infiltration. If you don't have solid wood there may be water damage to the wood (dry rot). ....just some thoughts...Gary

Well so much for the DIY Awning repair.
Need to remove the whole support slide bar. To get behind and put in a molly or anchor of any kind.

So for now the OLD Tooth pick trick will have to do till I can get into a repair shop to fix.

You can't just prop the top of the awning arm up w/2x4 and get behind the bottom support? The new screw may hold just by squirting contractor grade construstion glue in the hole, installing the screw and leting it set for a day. Just use hand caulk gun. $3 gun and $5 caulk.... easy DIY....Gary

Gary this is the 2 Step Awning. Not the regular A&E that has the arms that detach.

Well got it fixed for a couple of $$.
Went to Lowes and bought a couple of Hanger Bolts. ( have wood thread on one end and machine thread on other)

Had to drill out the holes in awning bracket a little larger.
Put the new bolts in and nuts. Looks like it will work, Nice and snug on MH wail.

Still do not plan to use the dang thing.
