DW runs the A/C fan the entire night as she likes the constant sound and air flow. My question as a newbie; is this putting too much strain on the actual unit running it during the night? Any thoughts on this.

We run our to get the white noise at night. It won;t hurt the fan motor. Starting and stopping a motor is actually worse than letting it run.

We also run ours (only works in cooling mode) continuously to keep air moving and for white noise at night. Have been doing it for 5 years now and so far so good.

It's like running a fan in your stick house all night. Doesn't hurt anything at all. Just uses a little electricity. Very small price for keeping momma happy.
