I just installed the hardwired Progressive Industries surge protector. It has a default setting of 15 second delay to restore power. It can be set to have a longer (2+ minute) delay if the A/C needs a longer delay.
I have a Journey with basement air and cannot find any documentation as to how soon the power can be restored to the unit.
Does anyone know if the A/C has a built in delay to protect it from short cycling, or do I need to set my surge protector for the longer delay?

SoI|Boy,
I have a 2009 Latitude 37G with basement air and the A/C has a built-in 2 minute + delay for protection when compressor cycles off. I believe your Journey has the same built in delay so I would use the 15 second delay setting. Monitor the compressors the first time you interrupt their cycle during electrical power connection through the surge protector to make sure the compressors do have the delay. Otherwise you run the risk of shortening the life of your compressors. Let us know your findings.
