Have some questions on our new 2005 Adventurer. W.H.
1. How do you remove the inside engine cover? (Doghouse)

2. Above the dash instruments where the factory Winnebago lights are for the Jacks down (on left) and check roof ant.(on right) I have what appears to be a blue or green light with no factory markings. I think this light was added for something, not factory installed.
I would like to use it for my SMI brake system (toad brakes on) if it is not for something else. (And If I can find a way to access the wiring.)Which brings me to the third question.

3. How difficult is it to remove the dash, or gain access to these lights?

4. When the headlights are on, are the instrument panel lights on the driver door to be lighted ? Also the Sony backup monitor buttons?

Thanks

The dog house has a sheet metal screw on either side of the front of the house at the top and there is latch at the rear of the house that is turned with an allen wrench. The hole is usually concealed by the carpet so you may have to look for it.

The blue/green lamp you see is actually the IR sensor for your dash radio remotes. It doesn't light up.

Access to the inside of the dash is usually via the windshield side of the dash. There should be a few screws holding it on.

Not sure about the lights, I do not drive after dark'

The dash should be easy to remove with the visible phllips head screws. Our 2001 was hinged and just lifted up. The 2005 looks the same without the hinges.

We don't have the blue light and our radio remote is attached to the wheel.

The door and video switched are not lit.

the doghouse in unlatched by an allen wrench. it is pretty large, i think about 5/16'' and should be in your big black satchel or in the doghouse storage area. the opening is in the aft part centered about 3'' from the aft edge. this is a cam type over center latch. it pulls the doghouse fwd tightly making the screws on the fwd part hidden in the carpet superfluous.
to remove the doghouse cover, first remove the small sheet metal screws in the fwd part if installed. then locate the allen wrench access hole, insert the wrench and turn the wrench about 3/4 turn ccw. pull the doghouse up and aft where the wrench is. installing is the reverse.
your dash sounds different than mine, can't help you there.

Thanks for the help.
Now that I know where to look, I will try to find the hidden screws in the doghouse.
What I thought was a light on the dash could very well be a IR sensor. The radio has remotes.
When I get time, I will remove the screws on the back of the dash and see if that will help me gain access.

kstrails, just a suggestion......

I used the "Check Antenna" light on the dash to indicate toad brakes on when I installed my SMI brake system.

I use a large hair clip on the steering wheel when the antenna is up, then move the clip to the crank-up handle when the antenna is down. Works for me better than a timed light that goes off whether antenna is up or down.
