I just discovered a light tan stain on the ceiling between the exterior door and the kitchen slide, where the ceiling meets the wall. We've only had the coach a few months and never noticed it before. I assume it was there when we bought it but just didn't see it. It is light enough that the lighting has to be just right to even see it. After first discovering it a couple of weeks ago, I closely checked it after each rain storm, and we've had some big ones, and have not felt any dampness.
Up top everything looks fine. My suspicion is that it either cured itself (doubtful) or was repaired at some time before we purchased. The coach has an awning mounted on the roof curve due to being over a slide. While the flange of the awning looks very tight to the roof there must be 20 screws holding it on. I have stuff that shoulld take care of the stain but need advise on how best to take preventive measures to prevent further leaks.
My ideas:
1. caulk each screw head
2, remove each screw and replace (with stainless while I'm at it) using a sealer.
3. Eternabond the entire length of the awning mount (may be a problem if the awning ever needed to be removed.
4. run a bead of caulk down the mount to roof line seam
Any thoughts on those ideas or others???

I would call Winnebago Customer Service and talk to them. They will ask for the Winnebago Vin number and can pull up everything about your coach and proceed from there. They are very knowledgeable and helpful. There are some questions about using Eternabond on Winnebago's so I would check with them on that also. Good luck and enjoy your MH.

What's the best method for removing the brown stain left in the ceiling cloth after a leak?

The best thing I've found for water and/or mildew stains is a marine product by the name of Spray Nine. West Marine carries it, Walmart used to but, at least the one here, doesn't anymore. I've also used Atwood's mildew spray remover (carried at WM) with almost as good results as Spray Nine. Bleach and water spray works well but, you have to be real careful using it. Check color fastness, etc. will really stink up an enclosed space (like a Motorhome).

We have used clear windex on stains---not the blue stuff clear---and as usual test it before you apply it to the fabric. We removed for the most part a similar stain with it------it also works great on berry stains on the carpet---we learned this after a child hit a table full of raspberry juice and dumped it on our new carpet and a guest new white silk dress-----she calmly said--"do you have any clear windex---we did---she cleaned her dress and we cleaned the carpet---everyone returned to normal---unstained.
