Air Conditioner Filter

This Should Be A Simple One

I am a bit embarrassed to be asking this, but where is the A/C filter located on my 02' Journey 39W? The manual places it inside the passenger side of the rear bed cabinet. The picture seems to show a bed oriented along the centerline of the coach. My bed is in a slideout perpendicular to the centerline and I have looked in the cabinet a couple of times without success.

Help always appreciated.

If I remember correctly I believe you have to take off the wooden grille and it should be in there

You probably have the wrong owners manual, in early 02 they did not have the proper manuals for the 39 footers so they put manuals for the 36 ft coach in the 39 footers. I had a new 02 39QD with a 36 ft owners manual it took Winnebago several weeks to get me the correct manual. It drove me nuts for a while. The filter should be on the pass side against the rear wall on the floor behind a black plastic grill.

When you find the filter replace it with the cheapest, angel hair style filter. Any of the more efficient filters will restrict air flow too much. Just change it more often. There have been numerous incidents reported here of A/C cooling problems that were caused by too good of air filter....
