Look on the name plate and you should find amps FLA or RLA. Multiply amps x 120 volts and you have watts.

If you are doing this for a generator, you need to be sure you have enough starting amps. Starting amps can run 5 to 6 times the running amps.

If it is rated at 20 amps...20 x 120 = 2400 watts.

I just got the service manual for the 6535 unit and the typical current seems to be ~35.6 Amps, not including surge. But, they protect against both units coming on at the same time.

Of course, they operate from separate legs of the 50A source. Each unit has a 20A breaker.

My system has a problem w/ compresser system 2 so I killed the breaker to it. Also, the condenser fan (outside blower) is making a ruckus. Scheduled for service next week.

Ours draws about 21 amps running with blower on high and both compressors operated. Our specification plate details.

Ken has the math correct - 20 amps (or whatever) X 120 volts.
