Air Drive Filter

I have been thinking of doing my own maintenance on my 04 Itasca with a 330 Cat Engine. So I called and spoke to Freightliner to get some information on lubing the chassis and the proper filters. I was told that the most overlooked filter is the Air Drive Filter. He said that when it goes you are stranded, period. Has anyone changed this particular filter and was it difficult?

Thanks, Hank

Is that the intake filter on the air compressor? I can see how that is an often over looked item.

Are you sure?

Are you sure he didn't say 'Air Dryer Filter'?

On your FL Chassis it's rithe behind the street side rear wheels. Probably a Haldex filter that looks something like this. It is a PITA to change but as they said, very important.

It is possible to change it without removing the mounting assembly, I posted the method here about 3 months ago. Expect to pay about $100 for the filter if it's this one.
