Air Horns

I have a 2003 Journey DL on a Freightliner chassis. My air horns have stopped working. First steps from both the MFGr website and IRV2 are to check the air horns for dirt and bugs. I'm assuming this is at the rear of the horn where the diaphragm plate resides. These are surprisingly clean. Next step is to find the air tank.

Does anyone know where said air tank might be located? Maybe what it looks like?

I presume you've already done step 0 (make sure the Air Horn switch on the dash is ON--bottom switch in vertical row of 5 to right of instruments). I'm pretty sure the air tank is the same chassis air tank that supplies the air suspension.

Just fyi, page 7 of the Automotive Wiring Diagram for your coach shows the Air Horn wiring diagram (upper left of page).

[OnEdit: Corrected to reference 2003 diagram vice 2002 one.]

The tank that supplies air to the horns on my Horizon is up front by the generator, just left of the windshield washer reservoir.

Are you sure that's not the vacuum tank for the dash HVAC controls?

I’m sure, but It looks like they did away with the separate air horn tank after 2002 year. Here is a picture of my tank, right up front.

Why not pull the air line off the air horns and check if you have air there when you try to activate them?
If there is air there then your horns are dead, no need to check for air supply etc. New horns are needed.
