You'll have a lot of fun.
Let's see ...
1) Carry a spare Air Filter and Serpentine Belt. They take up space and you might not need them, but they're hard to find anywhere but Anchorage if you do.
2) VERY IMPORTANT! Put a stone screen under your engine to keep rocks and gravel out of your pulleys and away from your radiator.
3) Put a plastic protector strip along the base of your windshield. A rock hit in the middle will create a star, but a hit along the edge will create a crack that will spread. There is a mobile windshield repairman in Whitehorse.
4) Keep a list and receipts for everything you buy in Alaska. You'll cross the border about 8 or 9 times, and the worst one is from Canada back into the lower 48. Go to the Customs websites for both Canada and the USA and follow the instructions. Especially the USA.
5) DEF in Canada is expensive. Buy it in Alaska. The nice people at Village Gas in TOK (where the WIT people will take you) sells the 2-1/2 gal jug for $19. Down the street at Watson Lake it's $40.
We went last year. Whatever anyone else says, the best sticky buns are at the bakery in Haines Junction ... !
PM if you'd like to know more.
