From the world of New Discoveries- went camping the last 4 days. Tried out my new Trojan batteries. Used the inverter and lots of power via microwave, toaster etc. Next morning a little low on battery so lit up genset with my new remote control. All is well, charged- for couple hours and let kidlet plug her fifth wheel in to charge up also. Next morning to my dismay, my batteries are down to 11.5 volts. I whined about this at breakfast and this got a snicker from kidlet. She had not pulled plug from outside plugin on our unit-she said they wondered why they had microwave & tv all night. Eureka- we discovered our Luxor powers the outside plugs when the inverter is left on. She discovered where free power is located.

"A couple of hours" is not nearly long enough to fully charge those batteries by the way.

With a proper 3-stage charger once they reach 90 percent (Which can take "A couple of hours" you need at least 2 hours more for the last 10% of the charge.

Page 2:

On my motor home there are two 30 amp TT-30 outlets on pigtails and a 30 amp TWIST LOCK all hidden in a weather proofed area... I have daisy chained to another RV when their generator failed. These are not on the inverter line however.. they are on the "MAIN" box only, not the sub panel.

Worked out well.. I've also used them to run a ham radio field day.

(I have like 75 feet of very heavy twist lock extension cord and an adapter that lets me take it down to regular 15 amp outlets at the far end.. This was originally used to power my house during times of power fail)
