Another Flat Panel TV Install

When we purchased the coach someone did me a favor and removed the Sony analog TV and surround Receiver/DVD player from the coach. Additionally, the RCA analog TV in the bedroom didn't work. The dealership gave me $1,000 to replace the TV and surround. This is how the project came out.



The 32" LCD TV pulls out on drawer slides and there is storage for 50+ DVDs behind the TV.



I added an additional cabinet below the 22" LCD TV so I could install a second satelite receiver in the bedroom. I plan on adding a door with a glass insert to cover the receiver.

Gene, nice job, I also took a look at your Flicker photos. We also have a 38T. I was wondering where you got the wood material to match the wood used by Winnebago. Did you use a stain finish. If so where did you get the stain? When you chose the Phillips TV did you do this so as to exactly match the TV opening so you could keep the sliding doors and still use them? All I have done so far is install a Digital converter an then look around at what others have done. Thinking someday I will jump out and convert my TV's.

I used maple for the trim, purchased from a local cabinet shop and stained with Early American stain from MinWax. Get the folks at the cabinet shop to help you with matching the finish for your coach; mine was Sierra Maple.

Yes the Philips LCD was selected because it would fit between the doors. It is not a bad TV but it is only 720P. For 1080P you could go with an LED TV but they are still pricey in 32".

Nice job ROMAD! Like Stevedg007 I’m contemplating the change over one of these days but am doing fine with a converter for air reception in the short term. It sure would be nice to have that additional storage area you created though. The addition of the Flicker link put the whole project in perspective. Thanks for sharing
