I just upgraded my OEM comverter (Parallax 7345) with a Progressive Dynamics PD 4645. The goal is to gain some battery charging sophistication. A couple of years ago, I also installed a Trik-L-Start. Another View/Navion owner reported his PD converter would not go into the "float mode" because of a Trik-L-Start.

Will the Trik-L-Start pose any problems for the "Charge Wizard" feature of the PD 4645?

I recently replaced a Parallax 7455 Converter/Battery Charger in my '04 Meridian due to charger boiling batteries dry. Installed a Progressive Dynamics PD9260C 60 Amp RV Converter/Charger with Remote Pendant.

I had previously installed a Trik-L-Start, and after a few tests, my PD seems to work as designed. According to the insructions and the indications (flashing light on remote pendant) the charger does go into float mode.

I see no problems with a Trick-L-Start and the Charge Wizard controlled units. The Trick-L-Start should make no difference at all to the PD. save that if the batteries are down (Starting battery) it may take a bit longer to get to the "Float" stage.... But then one would expect this and the PD can take it.. Unlike some converters.

Use the PD unit on the coach batts and use the Trik-L on the engine batt. I have been using this combo for 5 years.

The Trik-L fools the PD and keeps it in the charge mode. It can't ever drop to the maint. mode.
