Has anyone used Eternabond on full body paint - roof to sidewall seams?

If so, did you paint it? Or, did you use one of the 4 Eternabond colors?

I used Eternabond on my sons Weekend Warrior roof that was leaking between the roof material and the aluminum skin. It is the worlds best product for sealing. There is none better in my book. Do it once and you never have to do it again. I used a color that sort of matched the siding. That way I wouldn't have to worry about painting or re painting. It is the only way to cover a seam so that you never have to re caulk again.

I understand there is a version of eternabond that is paintable. I used the white on my rig which is not paintable.

Yes, Eternabond offers a paintable product called Webseal. I called Eternabond and the rep said it is a fabric tape that must be painted for UV protection. He indicated that the Roof Seal product was better for RVs.

Rex ..... I finally found the post of C Zimm who has applied the Webseal to full body paint. This is where he discussed the application.... Try this link

Try this: Eternabond (painting) - iRV2 Forums

Harry,

Thanks for the link. Based on C Zimm's experience with paintable Web Seal I think I might be better off using Roof Seal. I wish I could match my dark blue, light blue, gold and gray paint scheme. I think the best compromise would be a black eternabond stripe down the length of the coach. Probably not that noticeable after applied.

We did paint the silver Eternabond mid-2008. I have not seen any side effects yet. Here are a couple of photos...

I did not realize Eternabond offered any colors. What colors do they offer? I sure would like to use some on my Cambria, but do not want a fuzzy finish.

Monaco Mama,

What type of paint did you use to paint the eternabond. I assume you used the aluminum finish tape.

Eternabond Roof Seal tape comes in White, Black, Tan and Grey colors

Eternabond has a web site and a contact number for tech service and and they are very helpful. As stated before ,it comes in 4 colors plus web seal. They say any of it can be painted although I would be reluctant to paint it due to paint adhesion issues. I would however try painting a sample piece and see how it worked. This stuff will put and end to all of your caulking issues for good.
