Are interior walls structural? Class A, 27'

I just bought an old 27' (1985) Chieftain and am starting the restoration/remodel of it. I was wondering if I have to take into consideration the interior walls. Are they structural? Specifically is the wardrobe supporting anything? Also, how are the outside walls and roof made, structurally? If I were to rip the inside sheathing off (not that I'm going to do this) what would I see? Knowing that would probably make it easy to figure out how everything is hidden.

Winnebago claims that their interlocking sidewall - roof joint system provides structural strength without any interior walls being required. You might call Winnebago and see if they can confirm that your 1985 has that construction. You might also ask them if your 1985 was already using the aluminum framing construction their current RVs use. One way you can peek into your sidewall construction yourself is to pull refrigerator vent covers. If you are thinking of removing the wall between the twin bed and wardrobe, you should be fine.

Thanks for the reply. I had composed a response, but it didn't get posted for some reason.

If I had looked closer at the construction I could have answered my own question. It's just a 1x2 frame stapled together with a luan skin glued to it, so it can't be adding any structural support.

Never seen an RV yet that had interior walls as part of the structure.
