The wheel bearing is lubed with SAE 80-90 Gear Lube and that is what the fluid smells like. Looks like the wheel bearing seal has failed. I found others with the 2004 chassis that had similar failures of the bearing seal.

Confirmed the "O" ring on the wheel bearing was bad.
