We did not get the 4 FRS radios when we
got delivery on our Horizon - apparently
the previous owners decided to keep them.

We now have a neat 4 gang charger in the
front of the passenger's seat that is empty.

Any ideas where to find the little FRS-100Y
radios that fit in there?

DW suggested the charger box would make a good
Kleenex box holder or planter.

Ive been to the Audiovox site and it doesnt show up on it's search engine. I also have used all of the other search engines on the web for model number and turn up with no results found.

Im sure they have been discontinued.

And the search goes on.....

Thanks for the recommendation, though.

Heartland America used to have them on their web site, but they don't list them now . Maybe you could email them and see if they can dig some up. I'll look around the Winnebago surplus store when we are there Oct 9th.

AH - That makes more sense.

I was going by the Horizon inventory sheet who listed them as FRS-100Y.

Since they have started adding the UHF GMRS
frequencies to the FRS radios they have a better product to sell.

Thank you VERY much for the data!!

Best regards,

Sam

Looks like you're issue was solved!!

For anyone that may be reading this that doesn't have the built in's, John Canfield's least fave store has several different kinds of them....That'd be the rat shack!!

At least it appears they quit asking for your address!!

This is what I have on my Vectra.

http://www.amazon.com/Audiovox-GMRS1.../dp/B00009V2XI

I found them by doing a google search for GMRS122-2.

If/when you get the radios be sure that you've got Rechargeable NiVH batteries in them before you put them in the charger.

That is a good suggestion, and I assume the "NiVH" is, in fact, NiMH.

Alkaline and Manganese batteries tend to smell funny when they've been baking in a charger. Not that I (admittedly) know this from experience. <G>

Thanks,

Probably is--I just used cut-and-paste from the website I posted earlier
