I need to lift up the front bracket of the awning to replace a decal. The awning is A&E Weatherpro. I am hoping to get the bottom of the bracket far enough away from the sidewall to replace the decal. I tried by taking the 2 screws off but that is as far it will go. I don't want to force anything. Anyone know how this is attached at the bottom? The decal was damage by having a power washer too close! I didn't think I was but...

If it's that close to the arm could you just touchup the bad place with paint?

Dave,
They probably put 1/2" to 1" of butyl rubber around those screws to seal out water. If that's the case, use a large wide blade screwdriver and a 1x1 piece of wood or 1/2" plywood to SLOWLY pry the bracket away from the side wall.
Once you see the butyl rubber streching open, use a razor blade to slice it in half. That stuff sticks like heck, but it will cold-flow given some tension on the mating parts.

Good luck,
