I just had my 04 Journey 39K axles weighed at a local weight station. I weighed the front(9660 lbs) and rear(16790 lbs) seperately. The design of the scales prevent me from weighing each corner seperately. I have a Michelin Tire guide that lists different axle weights per the tire application to determine correct tire pressure and the chart does not go that high in weight. So now I am wondering if these weights I have are normal per axle. Coach was weighed with full fuel, water and driver and normal storage of supplies, clothes, etc. Anyone have any idea if my weights are within the normal range for this type of coach?

If your front axle weights 9660 lbs then each tire is supporting approximately 4830 pounds. For the rear axle weighing 16790 lbs each tire is supporting approximately 4198 lbs. Those individual wheel weights are what you need to lookup in the Michelin table, using the 'dual' values for the rear tires. (Some pressure tables may actually list the weight for both dual tires combined, but if this is the case it should be obvious because the number is nearly twice as big as the single tire value.)
Since these were derived from axle weights you may want to add 5 psi or so to your pressures from the table to allow for that fact that one side is probably heavier than the other.

Two things would help. What is the GAWR for your axles... should be on a placard in your coach. What type, size and load range tires do you have? I'm sure if you post those someone will do a double check for you to make sure you come up with the right numbers.
I know this is true because I just posted the same question last week.

I really enjoy IRV2 and getting valuable info from all of you. Thank you for the input, Chris and Rick. Had I bothered to read the instructions on the table on the definition of single and dual, I would have seen exactly what you said. DUH! My bad, guys. NOW the weights make sense. Looks like I can decrease the pressures because I was running the factory recommendation on the sticker of 105(fronts) and 100(rears), a very harsh ride. I wish I had done this on my 01 Adventurer F-53 chassis for the 8 years I drove it. Thank you again,
Barry

No problem Barry. We're guys. We don't read the manual until ALL ELSE HAS FAILED!
