Hello all! New to the forum (for about 2 months now) and really appreciate all the info!

I have a 2004 Journey and am having some intermittent problems with my back-up camera. From time-to-time my back-up camera starts to act strange...While driving (and also while stopped) the video image will flicker in-and-out and then come back. I want to trouble shoot this, but figured I would search the forums first. I am not sure if it is the Sony video monitor or if it is the actual camera that is suspect? Has anyone seen this on their rigs?

HI, welcome to the forums. Start with the easy stuff. Check the connections at the camera and at the monitor for loose or dirty connections. It also sounds like a loose ground could be causing in intermittent operation. If all connections are good, it may be a bad camera. Try calling Tim at RVcams.com. He is a web site supporter and a real good guy to deal with. He will help you diagnose the problem.

I have a 2004 Journey 39W which had a rear view monitor problem in March of this year. I too, worked with Tim at RVcams.com and after shipping back and forth a bad replacement camera and a new monitor, we discovered that we had a bad camera (Tim said that 9 of 10 problems are the camera). He sent me a new camera and "behold" our rear view monitor works like new. I vote for a bad camera if your coach is an '04 vintage.

Thanks for the quick replies.

DeanLinAZ:
My Journey is vintage and I do suspect the camera as it appears that the image becomes over-saturated and then flickers out. Then comes back for a while... Do you recall which camera you purchased through RVcams.com?

EDIT: I think I found the correct replacement unit (VCB-RV2MH) on RVcams.com website.
