While running my basement AC it seemed to quit operating before the desired temp was reached. After a couple of minutes it would restart and work a few minutes and repeat the process.

I heard both compressors start and the amps went up to 22 so I they seem OK. When I operate the heat pump in the morning everything works and the nothing cuts off until the desired temp is reached.

I am concluding that the compressors are OK and that the thermostat is OK and therefore I am stumped as to what the problem may be. Before I check with a service person I would like to know if any of you have an idea as to what the problem and fix might be.

There has been many posts concerning this problem. My 2004 Meridian has done the same thing occasionally. Usually its when we're in the mountains where the temperature is fairly low but the sun heats up the coach and needs some air conditioning. Forest City was supposed to have fixed it several years ago but I'm not sure they did. It seems if the outside temperature is in the lower 70's or upper 60's, no matter the inside coach temperature, for some reason the sensor that keeps the coils from freezing up senses it getting too cold and shuts down the unit. Then later it starts back up again, and the cycle repeats itself all afternoon. Some have fixed this by replacing the sensor (or thermistor, don't remember exactly what its called) from inside the coils to outside but don't know what all it takes to do that.

I think if you do a search on "Basement A/C" you should get more information than you can absorb.

When I first got my coach, I had a similar problem. I solved it by redirecting the air registers away from the thermostat. The system has worked great for the last seven years.
