Basement Air Blower Speed?

I am in AZ and the temps are in the high 80's and the humidity is 10-15%. I have the thermostat set at 78 and the units will keep it at that temp. I have the blower speed set on low.

My question is: Will the units work better with the blower set on high? On high, I can only detect a small increase in the amount of air coming out of the vents.

I can understand using the high speed when the humidity is high, but does it help when the humidity is this low.

Your correct in that there is very little difference between the high and low speed. What we noticed is that at the slower speed the air appears to be cooler presumably because the air picks up more of the cold off the heat exchanger. This is our perception and we've never measured it.

We use the high speed when first starting the AC if the coach and roof area are particularly warm. After blowing out the warmest air, we then turn the air speed down to ensure receiving the coolest temperature in side the coach.

There is very little difference in blower speed. We generally keep ours on high all the time except sometimes at night when we are using it only for "white noise" ...and you may notice when the unit is set to "electric heat" only one blower speed is functional.

Theoretically, the lower speed helps remove more moisture from the air (latent load) so it feels drier. In low humidity environments, it is better to run the blower on high as with lack on moisture, which creates load, you take the risk of not matching your load to the cooling capacity and in certain conditions might harm the compressor.

With the two stage system, it would be nice if you could run first stage on low and 2nd stage on high, but without some fancy wiring reconfiguration, it would be difficult.
