The bathroom fan cover will not go up any more. There is electricity there, it makes noise like the gears are working but nothing happens. It will not go up. Can this be fixed. I looked at it from the MH roof earlier and there are some gears that drive the cover up and down. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

if you have a fantastic fan...
the fantastic fan in the bathroom on my moho has an automatic and manual mode. for the cover to open and close in auto mode you must push up on the manual operation operating knob. when you pull the knob down you can open and close the cover manually by turning the knob.
if you have a fantastic fan and pushing up on the operating knob does not fix your problem, check this website and call the fantastic fan people.

If it's the one in your toilet room (the cheap one) and manual hand crank, you can buy a repair kit at a r/v parts store. The fix can all be done from inside the r/v, simple repair.

If you have a Fantastic Fan call them they will probably send you the parts for free and walk you through the repair. I have replaced my fan motor and plastic gear its not difficult, my bathroom fan is electric but not fantastic I did a little from inside and then a little on the roof.

Mine is the cheaper one as well in the bathroom. It has a switch on the wall to raise the cover and another to turn the fan on. I looked in my manuals but could not find any information on it. So not sure if it is a fantastic fan or not.
I will call the RV parts store and see if they can help me.
Thanks for all your info.

Sometimes the seal sticks. If it is in the automatic mode a little external leverage may be all it takes. Then clean the seal with alcohol and apply a thin silicone lubricant.

Your fan is most likely made by Elixir Industries. You can Google them and then call them for replacement parts. Very easy fix.
