I have a crack in my skylight, has anyone repaired a crack and if so what did you use. What is the plastic used in the skylight

John, I'd recommend you talk to Lichtsinn (Winnie dealer in Forest City, IA) about a replacement. There are a lot of sizes & styles, and they were coach-specific. They have two plastic "lenses", an inner and an outer. I accidentally stepped on mine while on the roof of my '88 SuperChief. Tried various glues to seal the cracks, but nothing really held. The plastic was sorta "greasy", possibly polyproplene. The only solution was a complete replacement. Took 2 hours up on the roof and one tube of 20-year silicone caulk.

John I went thru that last year. I had several cracks in the corners. I drilled a small hole at the apex of the crack to relieve the stress and used to 2 part epoxy to seal the cracks. I got a new skylight but I'm wait to install it. Sorta like leave well enough alone for now. I received some tips though. One guy told me to remove the old one, lay down the Eternabond tape, screw the new skylight on and then back each screw out 1/2 turn. Then reseal with lap sealant. Good luck. I had no further leaks since the repair but and somne damage to the ceiling where the water traveled. Must have been like that for awhile. And yes it took 3 different skylight till the dealer got the right one. Get the catalog of Lichtsinn and there's excellent pictures of each.

I had the same problem 4 years ago on a 97 Adventure. I sanded the area around the crack and used fiberglass mesh and rosin. It never caused any more problem. You could not see the repair inside either.
