Bathroom Vent replacement

On our 2000 Chieftain, the vent cover for the bathroom vent is cracked and needs to be replaced. It is the "standard" kind with crank up lid, small black push button to turn on the tiny (but loud) fan.

Can the lid be replaced and how to do it or is it better to go with a new fan? Would a Fantastic Fan be ok in the bath area?

We had a new low profile Maxxfan installed in our bathroom, prety much leave it on low speed all day. It really is a vent, fan, and rain protection all in one. Works great

Wayne, the Fantastic fan will fit right in that 14" square opening. Not a hard job, but will take the most of a morning. 905 of the wok will be done from the roof side. Get proper caulking ahead of time (see your Winnie dealer) as you gotta remove evrything right down to tbe bare hole in the roof, then install the new fan.

I had a 1979 Brave and replaced all the roof vents with Fantastic Fans. Not only are they quiet, but Fantastic stand behind their products.
Last year we had a crack in one they sent me one free of charge!
You have to like those folks who stand behind what they make! Most don't want to know you after you bought it..

I replaced the vent cover only on my Fantastic 2 yrs ago. Mine had cracked while in Florida. I bought a replacement lid at Camping world. Its held on with several screws. The lid was around $25. Originally the color was white I replaced it with a smoke color it takes 10 minutes. I never though about calling the company if there is a next time I will call them.

Go with the best, put in a Fantastic. Not only are they AWESOME vent/fans, but they have support that is second to none.

Went to the local RV dealer (small but ok, and they had 3 different types of plastic vent lids. I bought the one that looked similar and tried to put it on today but it does not match the mounting frame. The other types were an obvious mismatch.

So, for now I used some sealer on the lid until I can find the correct fit. They did not have a replacement fan in stock but had the Fantastic Fan for $193 plus tax. I'm not sure I will do that as I also have a Maxx Air thingy to mount over the vent. Does any one know if Winnebago used a proprietary fan? Guess I will call Litchsinn on Monday.
