Is there an apron that I can get to help prevent acid holes in my clothing? I caught #$%& from the DW when I burned a couple of holes in a new pair of jeans while checking the battery water level. I am sure there are commercial aprons available but I don't know where to get one.

Now that you a pair of jeans with holes in them, and probably a really old ratty t-shirt (if you're anything like me), I think you have all the "protective clothing" you need.

Found a company that sells PVC aprons for acid protection. Apron and shipping was under $10.

Now it off to service the batteries!

Wow! How in the world did that happen? Did they (the batteries)tip over?
I stand on the outside with the steps in, door open and remove the stair cover. Pop the cell covers and check the level. If they need water I dip a baster in distilled water and fill the cell to the proper level. No acid leaves the cell or gets spilled or splased. Huuummmm?
Sorry, it just makes me wonder how??

I normally clean the battery connections along with checking the water level. I try not to scatter the bits everywhere but it is hard to control them at times.

Bigred,
Have you tried cleaning the conections and applying Dilectric grease on them? It's keeps them clean and working great! Unless you have a major problem you never have to remove them and clean unless your like me and do it once a year whether it needs it or not??
